Just because it’s summer does not mean that a man shouldn’t look pulled together and polished. Accessories are the key to a sophisticated look. And they can also be an outfits undoing. What we know is this; women judge other women by their purses and their shoes. The first thing I notice about a man (other than his face, butt and pecs) is his shoes. Then his watch.
Spring has sprung. Simply because I’m tired of fall/winter. I’m pushing my clients forward. I know…I know… It’s still snowing in the Midwest & on the East Coast. And we’re water-logged in La La Land. But the clothes are so cute for Spring!

I just had a birthday. A big one. Not too big. And besides as the saying goes, “Black don’t crack.” Or does it? I’ll never know. I intend to look like this till the last drugstore (or Costco) sells their last potion. But in my case I usually find it @ Barneys New York or Sephora. It might seem a bit girlie to do more than wash your face with a bar of Zest but so what…Gay, straight or somewhere in between; looking good is kinda all that matters.
The basics: Wash it, exfoliate it, and moisturize it.
FACE/ Wash it. Any good skin care regimen begins with a good cleanser. If you have dry skin cleanse with a creamy (keep it clean) cleanser that won’t strip your skin of it’s essential oils and over dry you. Oily skin? You want to go with a gel cleanser that has a little alpha-hydroxy or salicylic acid to help clear and stabilize your pores. If you have sensitive skin look for a fragrance free, hypo-allergenic cleanser that won’t cause break outs.

Lately I’ve been shopping like it’s my job. Well actually it is my job as a fashion stylist. But lately I’ve been shopping a lot for myself. I really don’t need anything. I mean I’m the boy that has everything. Except a boyfriend. What can you do? So what am I looking for? How about THE TOP 5 THINGS EVERY MAN SHOULD HAVE IN HIS WARDROBE?

One of my favorite recurring gigs is Style Network’s, How Do I Look. It’s a very fun set and a great crew. Finola Hughes is the gold standard among TV hosts. I just completed a new episode and here are some behind the scenes pics of “La Fin” and I on set!

I brought a bike. Now I can be seen almost daily cruising around Beverly Hills and West Holly on my jaguar cruiser.
It’s so cute. It’s blue and silver. I have a 1950s bike mirror on it. I also have a little bell with dice on it. And OH! I have a basket!
Tee hee hee… I said basket.
Looker. This movie starred Susan Dey (all early ’80s hot), Albert Finney (surprisingly old & mis-cast), Leigh Taylor-Young & James Coburn (crushin on James big time!). My fave line from any movie ever is uttered by Playboy Playmate of the Year Teri Welles: “They’re killing all the perfect girls.” Gosh…How many times have I uttered that line! This movie is just what the late ’70s/early ’80s were about: feathered hair, models w/A cups in jumpsuits w/o bras, blush that’s like a bruise and really cheesy fashion photo shoots. And I loved every contrived minute of it. I still have a fashion hard-on for it. Looker, Eyes of Laura Mars and the original Stepford Wives. The fashion styling in those movies is perfection.
