Last night I attended the finale of America’s Next Top Model Cycle Five. I’m a reluctant fan of the show. I believe the girls that become the second runner-up are the ones that should win. I am a fan of Elyse, Kahlen, Mercedes, Shandi, and Shannon. This season was all about Bre Scullark. Bre was like the girls I grew up with in Chicago. Fabulous, a touch ghetto, pretty, and oh so real. Whenever she was on screen, I was riveted. Though I didn’t see a win in Bre’s future, she made it to the final three. Robbed. Victory snatched from her grasp. I love how she kept it real until the very end. When she lost, the heels came off, and the glasses went back on. You must never forget in your travels who you are. She did not. Tonight my mission was to meet her. I did, and she was just as I hoped she would be. Sublime.
I just had a blast back at my old home Fox News Good Day LA chatting all things fashion for the 2016 Emmy Awards. Loved working with the outrageous Emily Loftiss! She was fun! Our producer Michelle goes “I knew you’d be great together! She’s the White, female you!” Click the link here and tell me what you think!
Just another day in the life of an ex-Reality Star.
Uber Driver: You look kinda familiar.
Me: Perhaps we’ve driven together before? (Not having it this morning. Don’t test me.)
Driver: No… That’s not it. Do you do television?
Me: (Vaguely…) Yes. I do.
Driver: You’re the guy from Big Brother!
Me: Yes. I did Big Brother ages ago (in a tone clearly meant to end convo).
At this point he misses turn heading towards expressway as his Google nav points out.
Driver: Big fan. Correct me if I’m wrong. You’re the guy who was on the block & didn’t use the Veto.
(At this point he turns onto a side street which is blocked. He now has to either backtrack (my suggestion) or go a mile out of the way adding 10 mins to my trip. Guess which option he chooses. I’m trying to catch a plane.)
Me: Yes… 20 years ago. (Clearly perturbed. And it was only 14 years ago.)
Driver: (Disregarding my suggestion & directions to expressway) I gotta ask you, why didn’t you use it?
Me: Sir that was 20 years ago & I don’t rehash my past with strangers. Can you focus on getting me to the airport?
My 1 regret, ever, is doing a reality show.
If the White House Correspondents Dinner is Nerd Prom then the annual Metropolitan Museum Gala is definitely Fashion Prom. Here I am for the 3rd year in a row on Fox News’ Good Day LA chatting the good, the bad, the UGLY and the basic!
I haven’t been good at all this year. In fact I’ve been needy, co-dependent, spoiled, insolent, petulant, and let’s face it, downright bratty. But that is what you’ve grown to expect since our 1st encounter so many moons ago, yes?
I’m so happy to announce that E! Network’s newest international show, Style Star, premieres this weekend on the Style Network. Each episode a panel of style pros ranging from fashion stylists, designers & celebrities dish on the sartorial choices of today’s hottest stars. The series launches the weekend of January, 8th with Angelina Jolie & Kate Beckinsale: Killer Style.
Join me every Saturday night (it’s Style so you know it will rerun constantly) as we dissect the fashionable ups and downs of actresses like Cameron Diaz, Eva Mendes, Julia Roberts & Natalie Portman. Actors not your thing? Well we reveal the super star style of music’s hottest stars like Madonna, Miley Cyrus, Fergie & Lady Gaga.
I’m super proud of the company I’m keeping in this show! Commentators include my pal Nick Verreos, the infamous Taylor Jacobson of The Rachel Zoe Project, my co-host from E! Network’s Perfect Catch Louise Roe, supercute Warren Alfie Baker & from America’s Next Top Model, Nigel Barker. That’s good company indeed.
So set your DVRs & Tivos for Style Star, Saturdays on Style Network 6 pm & 9 pm PT! M*
I brought a bike. Now I can be seen almost daily cruising around Beverly Hills and West Holly on my jaguar cruiser.
It’s so cute. It’s blue and silver. I have a 1950s bike mirror on it. I also have a little bell with dice on it. And OH! I have a basket!
Looker. This movie starred Susan Dey (all early ’80s hot), Albert Finney (surprisingly old & mis-cast), Leigh Taylor-Young & James Coburn (crushin on James big time!). My fave line from any movie ever is uttered by Playboy Playmate of the Year Teri Welles: “They’re killing all the perfect girls.” Gosh…How many times have I uttered that line! This movie is just what the late ’70s/early ’80s were about: feathered hair, models w/A cups in jumpsuits w/o bras, blush that’s like a bruise and really cheesy fashion photo shoots. And I loved every contrived minute of it. I still have a fashion hard-on for it. Looker, Eyes of Laura Mars and the original Stepford Wives. The fashion styling in those movies is perfection.
