GDLA For Karl Lagerfeld at Macy’s!

Jillian Chanel GDLA

One of my fave reoccurring gigs is Good Day LA. I love the team there and always have a blast! This week legendary Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld launched a new limited edition collection for Macy’s. Channeling Lagerfeld’s signature classic glamour but with affordable prices, the pieces range from $50 to $170 dollars. The 45 piece limited edition capsule collection is available at Macy’s locations in the “Impulse” department and debuts in select stores August 31st.

On Tuesday Jillian and I taped Style File! Jillian calls me her “TV husband” and together we showed some of pieces from the collection with my model muse turned author Sarah Deanna and a few other beauties from LA Models!

July looks amazing! 1st I’m editing my new hosting reel. It’s long overdue. I’ve put it off for ages waiting to get this epi of that or this clip of the other. Well no more. I’m in the studio working on it! And as soon as it’s done I’m going to post it here under VIDEO… ME ON FILM.

In late July I’m shooting another episode of my favorite recurring gig, How Do I Look. I love the show, the new  team and especially the host, my girlie Jeannie Mai!

Summer ’11 Must Have – Sunglasses!

On Stage

While shooting a fashion layout for Rage a very wise man (Dan Deutsch of Dan Deutsch Optical Outlook) said to me “eye wear helps define who you are.” He told me this while handing me a pair of vintage pink sunglasses worn by Elton John during a concert tour in the 70s. Now everyone can’t pull off pink, but what I learned that day from Dan is true: Sunglasses are jewelry for the face. And just like you change a necklace or a watch, one should change up their glasses.

Finding the right pair is easy. The frame shape should contrast with the shape of the face. Round faces should stay away from too round. Look for angular or rectangle styles. A square face or a strong chin? Look for styles that will give the face some definition like aviators with a rounded bottom.
