One of my favorite songs by Jill Scott is “Golden.” There is something about the chorus; “Livin’ my life like it’s golden. Livin’ my life like it’s golden,” that resonates with me strongly! Everyday that God allows us to rise from bed we have the chance to grow. To be the best, truest version of ourselves. We have the unique opportunity to open our hearts and share with the world. Life is a blessing.
Few things make me happier than getting dressed each day. Whether I’m working behind the scenes as a fashion stylist creating images that I hope inspire, or shooting these fun fashion videos for Midnight Velvet talking to women all over country about fashion, or just running errands on a day off, there is something so fun about rising, shinning and getting dressed to greet the day.
It seems particularly apropos that this week’s video is “Golden Glam.” How can I speak about fashion and the optimism it can bring without talking about the sizzle and spark that gold adds? From dazzling gold jewelry, to a flash of gold embellishments on a purse or your fave shoes, or a sexy gold dress for a big celebration, gold communicates happiness, an aura of success, and self confidence like few other colors can!
