I’ve been so (blessedly) busy lately. Right from Tyra I went into a pilot for vh1. Right from that I did an episode of Style Network’s, On A Date. Toss in looking for a new apartment and events and you have a frazzled Marcellas. Oh and I just finished the Master Cleanse which makes a bitch cranky and I’ve been dating and I’m still raising money for Bowling For Angels. I’m so busy I’m now officially sick. I have an ear infection. The same painful ear infection I had during Big Brother All-Stars. Ugh. I’m on Avolex, which knocks me out cold. And, not to be indelicate, sends you to the loo all the time. Hey I’m human. At least this time there aren’t cameras on me!

First I attended Trevor Project’s “Global Warming Ready” event. It was a fun night of shopping sponsored by Diesel, with a portion of the evenings proceeds going to The Trevor Project. I got to hang out and chat with Tony Tripoli from Fashion House and Doug Spearman from Noah’s Arc who I adore. And I didn’t buy a thing. I’m proud of myself. I have a problem. I’m that guy who has things in his closet with the tags still on them. My earliest childhood memory is of my grandmother hiding stuff she purchased from my grandfather. Followed very closely by my mother always going, “What is this?” “When did I buy that?” I think I uttered my first word in Marshall Field’s. “SA-leee…” I come from a long line of women who would say their happiest moments took place at Neiman Marcus. My happiest moments always occur at Barneys. Especially when I can get into a 32 jean. Which by the way I can now because I dropped 10 lbs in 7 days on the Master Cleanse. Oprah once said, “Nothing tastes as good as thin.” She right. Because I look good in these jeans.
Fast forward to Legendary Bingo. The Angel Mafia turned out in full glam force for Legendary Bingo. Final #s aren’t in but the evening raised close to $3,000 which puts us near $15,000. And we aren’t stopping til we hit 20 grand! Bowling For Angels is next Sunday, the 21st. Danielle and James are both flying in for the event. We are bowling the 10 a.m. shift. What a shame…We’ll be drunk and crazy and talking trash by 10:15. It should be a blast and I’m looking forward to seeing everyone. Kimberly Caldwell will be there, who I never see enough. I wanna know what she really thinks about Sanjaya. Bingo was funny. Valerie’s stalker showed up. He kept buying her drinks. I was like, “Nobody let Valerie out of your sight!” I usually date/sleep with my stalkers. I find it drives them off quite nicely. Hey, I’m a handful. I own that. Erika and Zen were gorgeous and great sports. And I now have another straight boy crush: Adam Larson. He’s so cute. And thick. And funny. And did I mention thick? He’s pretty yummy.
This weekend was the GLAAD Awards and it was also Q Me Con. I have been fighting an ear infection and it’s kicking my butt. I was scheduled to go to The GLAAD Awards as Big Brother was nominated but couldn’t make it. Besides I knew I wasn’t winning. And yeah I said I. I mean really is there another gay house guest? And the clip that got the show nominated is me talking about my crush on Kaysar and my appearance on All-Stars. For the past 5 years I’ve been Marcellas from Big Brother. No matter what else I’ve achieved I’m still him. My own ground-breaking show on BET, numerous TV appearances. It all comes back to BB. I will say this BB is very good about being inclusive. They do understand that America isn’t just white with a sprinkling of non-accented Latino.
So I opted out of The GLAAD Awards and the party that it was widely reported I’d be attending. I slept the sleep of the dead. This morning/afternoon I attended Q Me Con. It’s touted as “the only multi-day conference designed specifically for industry professionals working in, or looking to break into, LGBTQ content creation for the burgeoning queer TV, music, film and new digital media arenas.” Hey I need a gig so anywhere deals could possibly be made I’m showing up. I was asked by Carey Sherrell from The Apprentice to sit on a panel called “The Real Queer World: Gay Reality Celebs Speak Out!” It was a cute group that included Derek Artea, The Apprentice 6, Geo Herrera, MTV’s The 70’s House and Patrick Vaughn from The Amazing Race. We just dished a bit on our shows, why we did them and what life is like now that we are back in the real world. It was awesome. It was covered by Here! TV so I’m sure some of the video shot will end up there.
And now I’m off to the gym, when all I wanna do is have a big fat banana damn split with extra nuts but I gotta stay in these 32s so I’ll have a not-so-yummy protein bar that is supposed to taste like chocolate but is eerily reminiscent of bark.
