And How Was Your 2018?
It’s the end of 2018, and we see year-end “Best Of” or “Worst Of” lists everywhere. 2018 was one of the craziest, hardest yet most successful years I’ve ever had. I won’t list the “Worsts.” Why give them power? I learned from them and moved forward. The “Bests?” Well, there were many, and for them, I’m so happy and grateful.
Losing 21 pounds, learning how to work out, and taking control of my health is definitely a best.
Booking Bossip on WeTV was a top moment! The cast and crew showed me so much love and respect. And the fans of the show are the best. I loved every moment on set there, and I hope I’m asked back for season 3.
I worked a lot with Good Day LA in 2018. I’ve been shooting with them since 2011. As a TV host, you learn by doing, and nothing is a better teacher than live television. And watching greats work is like a master class.
But the absolute best thing that happened in 2018 for me was selling my first book. Abrams Books is releasing Supreme Models: Iconic Black Women Who Revolutionized Fashion in 2019. I’ve been working on this book for seven years. In November 2017 I signed with MacKenzie Wolf. Four months to the day in March 2018 my book sold. It’s a dream.
I’m so excited for 2019 — happy new year.
