I’M GOING TO THE BEACH…

blue

When you were little did you ever play “I’m Going To The Grocery Store?” It was a memorization game where you had to remember alphabetically the contents of a shopping list from A to Z. Well this month we’re going shopping for an outing to the beach! Even if it’s just up to Zuma to surf or Malibu for the weekend, it still pays to look chic.

Summer Chic! 2009

Summer 09 is all about bold colors and startling combinations, but don’t be afraid. Wear those bright colors with white jeans, a cute pair of denim cut-offs (girls only, men should never wear a denim short) or a pair of khakis which balances the bright. Think color balanced by a neutral. Accessories? Think green. And when I say green I mean eco-friendly; canvas slip-ons for boys and wood bangles or maybe a gorgeous cork clutch for girls. Yes, I said cork.

Here are my hand picked selections for cool cats and hot chicks to look sweltering this summer. First up the men:

Time to Spring Clean! Start with Your Closet!

marc-reynolds-wet

Spring has sprung. Okay maybe I’m a bit early but I’m ready for it. It’s a time for rebirth. A fresh start. Renewal. There’s a feeling on a global level of change in the air. Maybe it is the new President? Or just Michelle on the cover of Vogue. Whatever it is, it’s time to make space for the new. The Greeting Card Association estimates nearly 1 billion valentines are sent each year. That’s a lot of declarations of love.

Style 2009: Classic with A Mod Twist!

twins
It’s 2009. A new year is upon us. It’s time to blissfully say goodbye to the past and herald a glorious new future. Here are a few of the things to crave in ’09. It’s always about now, new, next and here are the must haves!

Designers To Watch:
The Elder Statesman. Designed by super-cute Greg Chait, yeah him, the one that was dating Mary-Kate, this is a collection of hand-spun 100% cashmere hats, hoodies, and sweaters and to-die-for cashmere blankets. My personal fave is the Baja Pullover Sweater which is total California cool. This kid with no design experience to speak of is becoming a fashion darling. Mens Vogue and Details have already profiled him.

Scents and Sensability!

Pool by John Skalickycorduroy

Scent is one of our most powerful senses. It inspires hunger, for food and more importantly, for sex. Pheromones. It’s not enough to look good. No. Part of having that extra edge is to smell good. It’s sexy. Every man should have colognes in his arsenal. Think of fragrance as an accessory. Fragrance is seasonal. For summer you want light, airy, fruity. For fall/winter you want full, musky, sexy.
