WORKIN’ IT…

One of my favorite recurring gigs is Style Network’s, How Do I Look. It’s a very fun set and a great crew. Finola Hughes is the gold standard among TV hosts. I just completed a new episode and here are some behind the scenes pics of “La Fin” and I on set!

And no, I’m not telling you if I won!

REPOST! THESE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS…

Looker. This movie starred Susan Dey (all early ’80s hot), Albert Finney (surprisingly old & mis-cast), Leigh Taylor-Young & James Coburn (crushin on James big time!). My fave line from any movie ever is uttered by Playboy Playmate of the Year Teri Welles: “They’re killing all the perfect girls.” Gosh…How many times have I uttered that line! This movie is just what the late ’70s/early ’80s were about: feathered hair, models w/A cups in jumpsuits w/o bras, blush that’s like a bruise and really cheesy fashion photo shoots. And I loved every contrived minute of it. I still have a fashion hard-on for it. Looker, Eyes of Laura Mars and the original Stepford Wives. The fashion styling in those movies is perfection.

Cupcakes from Maganolia Bakery.

Handsets for cellphones from Phobile. My roommie got me this for Christmas. Thank you E for giving me something else to walk around L.A. looking crazy with. I think it’s retro-chic!

Francesco Clemente. The artist. Moves me in ways I can’t explain. His work is raw and beautiful. J’adore Francesco (yeah, I know I’m mixing French and Italian).

L.A. Pride 2007!!!!!!!!!

This was one of the greatest weekends of my life. I was asked by Christopher Street West to host L.A. Pride 2007. What does that mean? Technically that means I stand on the Main Stage and introduce the music acts performing and banter and keep the crowd entertained while the next act sets up to perform. Being asked to do this during Pride Weekend, the weekend of the Parade, the weekend where gay men and women and their supporters come out to celebrate our lives, was momentous.

You know life is about labels. Some you create; model, actor, reality star, fashion stylist, TV host. Let’s not talk about the ones that are foisted upon you. Some you are born with; African American, male, homosexual. It took a long time for me to get to the place where I could admit to being homosexual. Then it took a long time to accept that this is my truth. This is who I am. And after this weekend I now fully, truthfully can say I embrace it. That no matter what other people say or do, that I am gay and I love who I am. My sexuality is not who or what I am. It’s a part of what makes me who I am. And I am PROUD of that part of me. I’m proud to be out in the media and in the world. To be able to say I’m homosexual. Not better or worse than anyone else. I just am.

Boys I Like… The Music Edition!!!!!

It’s time for me to, once again, extol the virtues of male hotness. Lately for me it’s been all about music. And there is nothing hotter than a guy who can sing. Or rap. Or play an instrument. But not yodel. There’s nothing hot about yodeling. I’m attached to my iPod. I’m the guy that makes up new play lists all the time; Sex, Gym, Runway, Brandon, Brandon Sucks, Bad Boyfriend, Disco, 70s, Reese’s (songs that go together or the original and the sample)… You get the idea. Anyway without further ado here is BOYS I LIKE… THE MUSIC EDITION!!!!

But first (in homage to Julie Chen, the only thing I can still stand about “Big Brother”), the first ever BOY I LIKE LEGEND AWARD! And the winner is… David Beckham! That fucker is smoking hot. It’s really ridiculous that he is straight. I mean looking that hot is usually reserved for gay men.
