The Dalai Lama, Oprah Winfrey, Nelson Mandela, and Kanye West.

What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?
Fear. I fear the unknown, the future, and in some ways, success.



What is your greatest extravagance?
Dinners. Nights out. Shoes. Skincare products.

On what occasion do you lie?
All the time. You simply must. Most often, it’s to spare the feelings of others.

What do you dislike most about your appearance?
My flat feet.

Which words or phrases do you most overuse?
“No.” I’ve learned to say it, and I love it!

What is your greatest regret?
None. Mistakes have gotten me to where I am. I’m happy.

What or who is the greatest love of your life?
My family and myself. My best friend “Kata” and Lisa Donahue, too.

Which talent would you most like to have?
Diplomacy.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I’d have my eyes done and have a raging six-pack. Something deep I’d change is, I’d learn to forgive others and not judge.

What would you change about your family?
We’d be closer and could love each other for who we are.

What would you consider your greatest achievement?
Happiness, hope, and optimism in the face of the obstacles faced by African-American men.

If you were to die and come back as a person or thing, what would it be?
The President of the United States.

If you choose what to come back as, what would it be?
A philanthropist.

What qualities do you most like in a man?
Honesty, humor, intelligence, kindness, and strength.

What qualities do you most like in a woman?
Self-assurance, the strength of conviction, and wit.

What do you value most in your friends?
Humor, loyalty, and truth.

Who are your heroes in “Real Life?”
I am my own hero. I loved myself when told I wasn’t worthy. I saved myself when no one else would.

What are your favorite names?
Christian, Marc, and Nicholaus.

What is your motto?
I have three. “Be your own hero” is a lesson I’ve learned. John 13:34 from the Bible, “Love yourself as I have loved you.” I also like “Do Not Cry Because It’s Over, Smile Because It Happened.”

  1. I was conflicted about the hero question. Personally I have none. There are people out there fighting the good fight that I admire and mybe aspire to be like in some ways but heroes? No. I don’t like the hero-worship we see among the young. People aspiring to be like a rapper or actor. No, I just wanna love myself for who I am and not look outside for validation from others.
    So Hm mm…Maybe I will change those answers…

  2. Yeah the old one is still in the Marchive. But upon really reading the new one and reflecting I felt like letting go of it here. That exalting thing was a swipe @ Jason and Danielle from BB3. I felt because they were religious I could trust them. Never doing that again. I knew I shouldn’t, but I didn’t believe in myself. No more.
