Yes, finally! Essence magazine CC & CO Moana Luu picked my book, SUPREME MODELS: Iconic Black Women Who Revolutionized Fashion as “What I’m Loving Now!” I’ve been waiting for Essence to cover SUPREME MODELS. I fought to include Essence in my book. When I approached the team at Essence about using their covers, they were so kind. Of course, I was using covers from Essence! For many top black models, Essence provided their first tears and first covers! Top model Lois Samuels states in her SUPREME MODELS interview, “Since high school, I always felt I had to get the cover of Essence. I said, “This has to happen,” but it didn’t happen the first time.” Well, eventually it did happen for Lois and the result was stunning.
