Last night I attended the finale of America’s Next Top Model Cycle Five. I’m a reluctant fan of the show. I believe the girls that become the second runner-up are the ones that should win. I am a fan of Elyse, Kahlen, Mercedes, Shandi, and Shannon. This season was all about Bre Scullark. Bre was like the girls I grew up with in Chicago. Fabulous, a touch ghetto, pretty, and oh so real. Whenever she was on screen, I was riveted. Though I didn’t see a win in Bre’s future, she made it to the final three. Robbed. Victory snatched from her grasp. I love how she kept it real until the very end. When she lost, the heels came off, and the glasses went back on. You must never forget in your travels who you are. She did not. Tonight my mission was to meet her. I did, and she was just as I hoped she would be. Sublime.
The beautiful press for SUPREME MODELS keeps coming! My baby is almost a year old! I can’t believe that. It seems like just a moment ago the book that took eight years to create was released into the world. It changed everything. I can’t remember who I was before I became an author.
The press for SUPREME MODELS: Iconic Black Women Who Revolutionized Fashion continues to keep coming. In the past month, SUPREME MODELS has been mentioned by Grazia UK, Vogue Ukraine, on Access Hollywood, and Book Authority proclaimed it one of the “100 Best Fashion Books of All Time.” It’s incredibly thrilling. I’m humbled and proud.

My name is Marcellas the Great and I am the GREATEST FASHION STYLIST EVER. I am obsessed with fashion, shopping & creating something beautiful. I can’t live without love & style. You’d be surprised to know that I got my 1st job selling women’s clothing at 15 and if I weren’t a Fashion Stylist I’d own my own clothing store. If I had to choose my favorite decade of fashion it’d be right now because the new Gucci collection is AMAZEBALLS! My favorite place on earth is Hawaii and I’d live there forever though the shopping is awful. I like Jil Sander but I love Helmut Lang & TOM FORD. A styling tip I swear by is using WD40 to clean the white soles of your high tops & tennis shoes. I never attend a shoot without my nipple covers. I currently have Ariana Grande’s “No Tears Left To Cry” on repeat! Ariana just gets me. ❤️ The last show I binge watched was CLAWS on TNT! #YASSSS #teamNiecyNash! I find most of my inspiration watching cinema from the 1970s. My favorite fashion trend of all time is luxe boho and if it were up to me vintage YSL would never go out of style. Lately I’ve been interested in Murakami and Kerry James Marshal, and would love to own a painting by Francesco Clemente. My best style advice would be never consider the size on the tag. Buy the size that fits best then have it tailored to perfection. I love my Lanvin for H&M bow tie and would only trade my Mr Turk dinner jacket for the Tom Ford tux that it’s a knock off of! I am always open to sale shopping. I find that it nurtures my creative growth. I am more than the two hundred pairs of shoes or hundreds of pocket squares I own and that doesn’t make me a hoarder!
